Good Hope – Probably our favourite small bar to open in Manly in the last year this place ticks all the boxes! Excellent wine, excellent food and excellent service! The inspiration behind the name Good Hope comes from the first grape vines that arrived in Australia in 1788 via the Cape of Good Hope. The extensive wine list comprises of all Australian wines mostly boutique, and changes often. The food menu is equally as good, is Japanese influenced and made from 100% Australian produce. Located close to the wharf it’s perfect for an after dinner drink or dinner and drinks with friends.
Cured – Located in Market Lane, this stylish New York style bar offers a range of cured meats, cheese and an extensive wine list. The wines are sourced from all areas of the world, and cannot be found in bottle shops. There is a selection off 22 cured meats, all free range and 14 cheeses. The staff are warm and friendly, and the atmosphere relaxed.
Donny’s Bar – this unique venue is split into two levels, a bar on the ground floor, and upstairs a New York style loft dining area. With exposed brick walls and an open kitchen, this sleek warehouse is tucked away for locals to enjoy. Donny’s offers a tasty tapas style menu, and a daily happy hour from 5pm to 7pm. Later on downstairs, the area will turn into makeshift dance floor to dance off all the cocktails you have consumed!
Jamtown – the only slice of Jamaica in Manly, this vibrant beach bar has serves over 20 types of Jamaican rum, red stripe beer and some tasty tropical cocktails including a Banana serves up authentic home cooked style Jamaican food, the curries and the BBQ jerk dishes are favourites. Dance till late to the The SoundSystem and some amazing Jamaican tunes.
